It's over!!!

I have finally finished all of my school, or at least all my plans of school!  On Saturday I graduated with my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University.  I went ahead and decided to walk the stage, even though I just did it a year and a half ago.  It was a lot more fun doing for my Master's, you get a cooler outfit.  lol.  I never did really ever figure out how to wear the hood, but Cody helped me out.  However, once I was there I realized that there is a little hook thing that for boys they can hook onto their botton.  But for girls it doens't work that easy.  Since no one had a safety pin, Kathy went to get some but ended up running to close to time to when the ceremony started, so I had to improvise with a rubber band I found and an extra bobby pin.  I was successful in not having my hood choke me!

After the ceremony, which took 3 hours :( we went out behind the George Bush Library, where we took our engagement pictures, to take pictures and get away from the crowds.  By the time we got home it was 6:45 and people were coming over at 7 to celebrate.  But we still had good food and good fun despite being slightly rushed.

I took my diploma up to school with me today to show my kids, all of them were very proud of me, and some wanted to kown how to get one.  Hopefully I inspired some of them.  We had already celebrated my graduation on Friday, by having a "party" after our quiz.  they brought food and stuff, it was more organized chaos than anything else.  One class only had one package of cookies and some plates, and another class took it to the extreme with an xbox360 and strobe lights.   My kids are so weird- lol.  My third period got to meet Leslie, as she came up to visit me.  They are my ESL class, and have claimed to see my sister before at school, basically another girl who has red hair.  They were excited to meet her.

Mother's Day

This past weekend was Mother's Day (hope everyone remembered).  We spent it out at our friend Cohlby's ranch, or I guess his parents-lol, in Mason (about 2 hours west of Austin).  The whole Youtsey family was there as well as Cohlby's girlfriend Morgan and Kathy and Max.  We left after school on Friday and got there around 8:30.  It is definitely about a 4 and a half hour drive.  It was nice to just get away and do nothing.  We went 4wheeling and hiking.

We saw some deer on our way in and one on Saturday night.  While Mark and Max were driving around they found a rattlesnake and shot it, and then chopped its head off.  Then they came back and skinned it, so gross.   So that made the rest of the boys want to go out and hunt for rattle snakes.  We didn't see anymore, but we did see a raccoon.  So Cholby shot at it, and hit it in the butt but it still lived and when he tried to shoot it again (yes this is a place that they carry guns anytime they go out) it ran out from behind the rock.  Well Cohlby's dog Bo decided he would finish it off.  It was crazy.  I took pictures because I didn't know what else to do, but they are kinda graphic, so i won't post.

That night we went "spotlighting" which basically means you go around on the Kabota with a red spotlight.  Apparently the raccoons and stuff can't see color so then they can't see us.  We didn't see any more racoons, thankfully.  But Spencer did scare me because he was on the back of the Kabota, and then h jumped off and started walking behind it, and I didn't know that and I turned around and he scared me-lol.

Sunday morning we went for a walk around the property some and then ate breakfast and gave the mom's there their presents.  Then we left around 1:30 for our long drive back.  I'm glad Morgan rode with us, it was nice to have someone else to talk to, not that I don't enjoy talking to Russell but he knows almost everything about me and my day already.

The only bad thing about the trip was that I got sunburned, and high schoolers can be pretty mean about it :(

Again, sorry it's been awhile

So a lot of things have happened in the last few weeks, and so I will break it up in the appropriate posts, that I should have done during the week.

Two weekends ago, I went up to Dallas for my friend Lauren's lingerie shower.  It was on Satuday night, which was great because i didn't have to get up super early to get there.  However, I ended up getting up super early anyways, I hate that I can't sleep in anymore :(.

On my way up to Dallas I went through College Station so I could go to the bookstore to get my cap and gown, because of course it's not like the one for the bachelor's degree.  So I get into College Station and the book store is closed for inventory, with an apology letter for any inconvience.  I mean really?!?  Ugh so then I was like when am I goign to be able to get my cap and gown.  Luckily, one of my teacher friendsat Creek, who is also in my Master's program, still lives in CS, so he got it for me during the week.

Lauren's shower was really fun, almost everybody came and she got a lot of great stuff.

After Lauren's shower I spent the night at Rachel's house, my whole family was on vacation without us so I didn't have anyone else to stay with.  Me and Rachel were going to go down to Round Rock to the outlet mall, where they have a White House Black Market outlet store.  Lauren wanted us to get our bridemaids dresses from there. Rachel ended up not going, since she had a big job fair the next day.  Since I was already planning on going I went by myself, and got my dress for only $30.  SUCCESS!! But it was definitely a long day of driving.
