So I had the great privilegde of going with the Lakepointe youth to camp this past week. Jeremy texts me and says "so I know I didn't go to your graduation, but do you tihnk you want to go to camp". After giving him a hard time about not going to graduation, I agreed to a free trip to the beach (I mean who wouldn't). We were already going to be up in Dallas for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary party, so it worked out. Russell drove back to Houston by himself and I loaded up for the 12 hour bus ride to Orange Beach Alabama. We had lots of fun in Alabama, every morning we would go to a local church and had amazing worship and small group, then rec time. After lunch we would have free time at the beach. The condos we stayed at had both an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as it was right on the beach. And then after dinner we would go back to the church for more worship, preaching by David Nassar, who is very good, and then small group time again. The beach was not closed until Thursday, and we left Friday morning, so it didn't affect us too much. But even ealy in the week, you could see oil bead up on you if you went into the ocean. It's crazy to think that the oil spill has been going on for a month and a half now with no end in sight. I had a great time but was definitely ready to get home after a week away. Thanfully Jeremy and the church paid for my flight back, so I didn't have to drive.
